Golf Memory Tour Continues

One more course where our loved one golfed. Not only is this a course from his volumes of golf logs, but we had the honor of having putting contests with him at this course in his final years. Oh the memories! Plus we golfed this past week with a true gentleman who lived in the area. He had such wonderful stories to tell, including pointing out the home that allegedly is where Al Capone stayed at various times when he was eluding the law. Scandal!

First, the golf course: San Marcos Country Club. It is an 18-hole fairly flat course. The challenge on this course is the canal that runs through several holes. It is a quiet hazard, invisible to the first time golfer. We were grateful for the guidance of our fellow local golfer.

Second, the special: breakfast. We golfed the back 9 and were rewarded with a discounted breakfast at the club's grill. We splurged on a tasty omelet breakfast. Very nice but the company of our golfing companion made the meal perfect. Thank you!

To top off our golf adventures this week: LED golf balls. We've looked at these for awhile but hesitated...is it worth it? Then friends said that they were using them so we took the plunge and ordered a group of six balls in various colors.

OMG! Why did we wait? This is awesome! We now can golf a little earlier in the morning and not struggle to find the ball. PLUS, we have people who live along the course come out to see what object that is flying through the dark sky. It is fun and hilarious. Definitely does not go as far as a regular ball. It feels a little different hitting it, but it is so nice to be able to easily find the ball AND golf in cooler temps! Thank you Vicki and Ann.
