Tucked away off I-10 in downtown Phoenix is a beautifully zen oasis, the Japense Friendship Garden. It is small but packed with beautiful plantings and peaceful serenity. The sound of water flowing drowns out traffic and transports to a calm, relaxing place. The start of the colorful blooms promise springtime and life reborn. It was wonderful to see daffodils and lilacs in bloom.
The plus is a delightful park across the street. We walked through nearby Hance Park to the bridge/tunnel over the freeway and watched the mid-day traffic stream below. The outing was capped-off with tacos at Two Hippies Beach House tacos.
