Reflection

Yesterday we gazed at the vastness of Lake Huron. Today we stopped at the shore of Lake Michigan, just before crossing the state line into Indiana. Our symbolic good-bye to Michigan.  The trees are still bare but, if you look closely, small leaf buds are there. The beach is empty yet the warming sun proves tempting, beckoning you to try to go closer to the water (til the cool breeze awakens you).

It has been a reflective couple of days. People time. Slow driving. Many stops for a short walk. Nothing rushed. Just peaceful. And as we reached the top of the staircase from the Lake Michigan beach and headed back to the car, I spotted beautiful spring daffodils by a white fence. A reminder that everything happens in its season and life goes on.
