Elvis & Kira

This week's adventures were about learning. The first stop was the Elvis Chapel and Superstition Mountain Museum. It was early morning and places weren't open. My objective was to see where they were located and determine if it would be worth a trip back with Papa to explore more? I think it would be worth a tour and learning about the area. It certainly is a photo op. This would be a beautiful picture with the Superstition Mountains in the background, especially when they're covered in spring blooms or winter snow.

After a quick stop, I proceeded to the day's destination, Saquaro Lake and another kayaking trip. This one is a little different, focused on learning. Of course, there is learning more about kayaking. One way to accomplish that is by using a new app that tracks my route, speed, and other aspects. I learned I average about 1.6 mph paddling. The map above shows my route. Yellow is padding around 1 mph, red is stopped and, as the line has tinges of green, I'm speeding along around 2 mph. No I am definitely not speedy.

The second thing I wanted to learn more about was using a GoPro camera and editing the video. A generous and kind friend is letting me borrow a GoPro Hero Session. It's been fun trying it on the golf course. Now I wanted to see how it worked on the water. I strapped it to my head and took off. The hour-long trip is condensed into a less-than-three-minute video. Rough editing but I'm learning.

And BetsyB (car) now has a roommate in the garage. Kira, the kayak, is happily sharing the space. Yup, I named the kayak. 🤣
