Months ago, when a couple very dear people shared their plan to build a log cabin, we told them, "If you build it, we will come." Keep in mind, they build it, not have it built.
For over a year, they worked through challenging weather, shipment and inspection delays, and more frustrations than I could ever endure. The result is they have a beautiful-in-pictures cabin in the woods to show for their determination. (Up to this point, all we saw was pictures.) Now we get to swoop in and enjoy the fruits of their incredible hard work.
That was the spark that fueled this road trip. The trip has been terrific up to this point, but being here, with them, sharing this place, is beyond words. Their enviable talents enable them to build all the cabinetry, decorate like professionals, and attend to every detail
with perfection. They would not agree with such praise, but I assure you it is fully deserved. God has blessed them with amazing talents and they put them to good use, both for themselves and others. The time together was uplifting, as it always is. The area in Georgia has rustic mountain towns, clear, crisp air and sounds of nature winging your cares away on the gentle breeze. Sitting on the wrap-around porch was nothing short of bliss. Enjoying lunch outside in the friendly small towns was so refreshing.
We did see a few things in the area, but our precious time slipped away too quickly. So very glad we did have the opportunity to see their log cabin and spend time together. What a blessing! We even saw a deer on the hill behind their home. And heard about a bear and a hawk, neither of which appeared during our brief stay. Plus we were able to meet the newest and sweetest little Chloe. Oh I could squeeze you all day sweet, little fur baby.
