What to do on an absolutely perfect spring evening? Go to a minor league baseball game! There aren’t a lot of days like this in Iowa: 80s, sunny, low humidity and a light beeeze. Top off the beautiful day with the sound fans cheering, bats cracking solid hits, plus a tasty hot dog and ice cream, life is good.
Veterans Memorial Stadium is a beautiful minor league ball park. The memorials to military around the exterior are touching.
The team is the Kernals. Minor league baseball has long history in Cedar Rapids. This was a school night and early in the season. Don’t let the photos fool you. This stadium is often packed with fans.
