Along the western shore of Lake Huron are a string of iconic, peaceful towns. The history runs deep, the family ties are strong and pace is just a bit slower. People are friendly. Customer service is positive. It is tranquility at its finest. Of course it was more amazing having our friends and tour guides, Mike and Barb, show us around.
The Swinging Bridge was fun. We were told the bridge was used for field workers to take sugar beets across the river to the processing plant. Did you know Michigan is a big sugar beet producer? The island on the other side on the bridge now has a large pavilion and playground perfect for parties.
Papa and I love suspension bridges so we bounced around on the bridge. I think we may have tormented Barb’s young cousin. We apologize!
Lunch on the shore of Lake Huron was so good. And peaceful. Weather was absolutely perfect, ok a little breezy but so relaxing. Watching the wind surfers was mesmerizing. You have a wonderful spot, Mike and Barb. It IS tempting to return for sure!
